Family Photo Shoot

OK, so Brooks was thinking out loud one day and asked if we were going to do the family white and khaki pictures on the beach...little did he know Kelly and I would really make it happen. It went a lot better than I thought it would with three kids under the age of three! So glad that we took the time from our fun on the beach to capture these great photos (thanks again Rebekah for being our photographer).

Sunset Beach Vacation

Sadly our vacation has come to an end. We spent this past week with the Rogers and Shennan families (and a few nights with the Dukes) at Sunset Beach, North Carolina. This trip was a tradition that started when Brooks was just a little boy, but they haven't been there in quite some time. They have lots of fond memories of this beach and we definitely added to those this week. The girls had a blast playing on the beach and spending time with family and

friends. We captured lots of sweet moments on camera and I will slowly post them.

We started potty training this week. Grace has sat on the potty lots of times at "school," but only actually peed in it once. I decided to wait until I was home with her this summer to potty train since she hasn't really shown an interest in using the potty. So far she is doing pretty well. She did pee pee on the potty four times!

Luckily we all made it there and back with no problems. I called the airline a couple days before we left to see if there was anything I needed to do since Grace wouldn't be using her ticket to NY. They told me that if she didn't use it, her return flight would automatically be cancelled and I would have to buy her a one way ticket (for $540). After panicking, I quickly came up with a plan that Lily could be Grace on the way there and hoped it wouldn't be a problem to have a lap child on the way home. I think Brooks was a little nervous about this plan, but it worked perfectly!

Zoo Fun

On Tuesday, Nana and I took the girls to the same small zoo we went to last year when we visited. Uncle Mike and Aunt Danielle met us there with Madison and Alli came along since she didn't have school like Jake and Morgan.

Happy Birthday Morgan

On Sunday, we celebrated Morgan's 7th birthday. It is always fun when we get to do this because living so far away, we usually miss out on these events.

This was quite a hit with the kids and kept them entertained for hours. Although Grace didn't want to go down the slide (I think there were too many big kids for her) she had fun playing in the water.

Kristen's Wedding Shower

Lily and I met Grace in NY last Friday. On Saturday we had my sister's wedding shower. As most of you know the kids call her Aunt TaTa because that is what Jake (The oldest and only nephew) called her when he first started talking. The shower was lots of fun and Kristen (and Steve) got some beautiful things for their new home. We are looking forward to going back to NY for their wedding in August.

My Aunt Lois came all the way from Florida to surprise Kristen. Luckily we pulled off the surprise after having to hide Aunt Lois in a bedroom for a half hour because Kristen decided to stop by the house.
