The Mountains

On Friday we headed to the mountains (Ceasar's Head) to spend the weekend with Brooks' family and the Shennans. This is the longest car ride Grace has been on and she wasn't too happy about being stuck in her seat for so long. I think it was worth the drive because she had a great time once we got there. The weather didn't cooperate on Saturday, so we weren't able to go on a hike as planned. Here are the clouds blocking our beautiful view.

Grace didn't seem to mind hanging out on the porch all day.

She had fun driving around in her car.
She even helped out the adults by using her trunk to deliver drinks.

After all the work it was time for a rest.
Grace had lots of fun swinging in the hammock.


Grace was glad that the Dukes stopped by to visit on Sunday- She woke up from her nap and had fun bouncing on Duke's knee.

We never did make it on a hike, but Grace enjoyed walking around outside with Booker.

All the walking made her very sleepy!

Grace has recently accomplished sitting up on her own without doing a face dive (at least long enough for me to take a few pictures!). I can finally take her outside for photo shoots without an assistant, which Brooks is thankful for. We took these pictures after Grace "drove her car" around the neighborhood - this has become part of our evening routine. She really likes being outside and especially loves when neighbors comes up and talk to her.

Bath Time ~ TAKE 3!

Why do you ask did Grace have 3 baths tonight...That's Right! - the dredded poop in the tub! Don't worry - I didn't take a picture of it although I was tempted! After the first incident, I took her out and got everything cleaned up. Thinking she was done with her business, I filled the bath up again and put her back in (what a rookie!). The 3rd try was a success!!

Grace is fascinated by mirrors and could stare at herself for hours...

When she figured out that the little girl in the mirror wasn't going to play, she decided to hangout with the towel rack.

Grace and daddy also had fun turning the water on and off in the sink.

Reggae Night

Saturday night we went to a Reggae concert at James Island county park. Grace ran into a couple of her friends (Celeste and Walker). The highlights of her night were getting on daddy's shoulders and watching Walker run around with his new flashing light...I think she enjoyed the music too!

Grace's First Boat Ride

Grace took her first boat ride this weekend. Brooks' parents (Mimi and Booker) were visiting and it was great weather for a boat ride. Grace wore her life jacket with no fuss and had lots of fun swimming and watching Cyra play in the water. She was very tired by the end of the trip and fell asleep on the boat ride home.

Fourth of July

Grace's first 4th of July was special because her nana and papa arrived for a vist from New York. She spent the weekend with them at their townhouse while Brooks and I took the boat out for the first time this summer. Grace had a great week and was so glad that nana and papa brought the dogs. She also had fun on her first trip to the waterpark- she was a big fan of the lazy river. Grace gave her nana a great birthday present by saying dada for the first time on July 8th!
