Rivertowne Rays

This is the first year both girls are on the swim team. Lily wasn't sure about it at first and made it about half way through the practices the first two weeks. I am so proud of her for sticking with it and being able to make it across the pool and participate in the meets. Her sister is her biggest cheerleader and we were all so proud of her when she earned "Swimmer of the Week." Grace has earned lots of ribbons this year and is becoming a very strong swimmer. She is not a fan of the backstroke, but is improving each week. Although our team has not won a meet yet, they are having so much fun!

Ready for her first race!

Edisto 2014

We started summer off with our annual week at the beach vacation. The week always goes by way too fast, but that is probably because each day is full of nothing but fun! We had golf carts at the beach this year which made getting everything to the beach easy, but also made cruising around Edisto lots of fun. The girls are getting very brave in the ocean and loved riding the waves on their boogie boards. They also loved having dance parties (so did the adults), getting treats from the ice cream man, looking for shark teeth, playing volleyball, making crafts, and just being around lots of family and good friends. Grace lost a tooth at the beach this year, so the tooth fairy had to make a special visit to the beach house. We missed having all the Rogers this year all week, but are thankful Elizabeth was with us for the 7 day countdown. Each day the girls wanted to know how many more days, if only we could figure out how to slow down the week next year...

We ended the week on Sunday with lots to celebrate: The arrival of our new niece Julia Lane (who we just can't wait to meet this weekend!), Aunt Sallies' birthday and Father's Day.

I'm so lucky to have a dad that would do anything and everything for me, and now I am thankful to have a husband that is willing to do the same for my girls...

Growing Girls

It is hard to believe that kindergarten is over...
Grace had such a great year with Mrs. Cercopelely and Mrs. Atkinson, they are amazing teachers! She loves to read and is reading above grade level (she definitely gets this from her dad). Her favorite thing to do at school this year was write books. Grace made some new friends this year and continues to be kind, caring and sweet.

Kindergarten 2014

I am so lucky to be teaching at the same school she attends (although some days after teaching and needing to plan it can be a challenge)! I was able to attend all of her school parties and shows thanks to helpful colleagues. The end of the year at Laurel Hill is special and I am so glad Grace got to experience it this year. Each year we have Piccolo Palooza, two weeks of performances including the teacher talent show (Grace just loved seeing me dance on stage). My class also loved seeing her each morning (as she ate breakfast in my room) and getting to know her. This time of year is always emotional for me as I say good bye to the kids that that I've spent so much time with, but I couldn't be happier about the arrival of SUMMER!

Lily also had a great year in preschool. She has become close with two girls that she has been in class with the past few years (Marianna and Sammy). She loved her teacher Ms. Katie and is really into art and music at school. She learned her uppercase letters this year and loves to "read" books herself.

I am looking forward to spending quality time with my girls and family this summer!
