Jersey Visitors

John and Tara are here in Charleston visiting/vacationing for the week (John was one of Brooks' college roomates). We went to dinner at the Mason's house on Saturday & Sunday and John and Tara got to spend lots of time with baby Clare and Grace. Grace had fun meeting them and their huge dog!

On Monday, Grace woke up with swollen eyes. She could barely open her left eye, but she was still smiling. The doctor put her on an antibiotic for an eye infection.

Memorial Day Weekend

Brooks' parents arrived Saturday afternoon for a visit. Brooks and I went out to dinner Saturday night for an early anniversary celebration. It was great to go out for a nice dinner while Mimi and Booker watched Grace.
It rained on Sunday, but we had to get out the house because it was being shown from 12-2 (right in the middle of nap time). We decided to go downtown and eat lunch. Then, since the rain stopped, we walked around and looked at some of the art and crafts set up for Spoletto. Grace fell asleep and took her nap in the stroller. Later that afternoon, Grace showed off her dance moves. She even added a few new ones...

Busy Morning

Brooks had to work on Saturday morning, so I took Grace to James Island county park. First we went to the playground which they just renovated. We have been a couple times already and Grace just loves it! Here she is having some fun...After the playground, we walked over to the water park. This is the first time I brought Grace this season and she absolutely loved the water. She walked right into the pool up to her neck. She didn't want to hold my hand, but of course I insisted. Here are a few shots I took after she went swimming:

She took a great nap after her busy morning!

Time Away

This weekend Brooks and I gave each other some time away. On Saturday, I went shopping by myself (which really is a treat when you have a toddler). Grace had fun playing baby dolls with her daddy while I was gone. On Sunday, Brooks went fishing with his friend Mark. Unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate and they had to bring the boat back early with no fish. Grace and I spent the rainy afternoon at the aquarium...

Happy Mother's Day

Hope all of you mommies are having a wonderful day! Mine has been very relaxing. We are so lucky to have two wonderful moms who are the best "grandmas" to our little girl.
Grace loves her Nana and Mimi!

I loved the flower Grace made for me at school (even though her only contribution was getting her hand traced).

The Riverbanks Zoo

Our busy weekend in Columbia ended on Sunday with a trip to the zoo. Kids are such a great excuse to go places like this! The whole Rogers family went and I think Grace really enjoyed herself. Here are some pictures from our day:

Grace really surprised us all when she was brave enough to go on the carousel. She loved waving to her "fans" as we went around and around.

Carolina Baseball Game

Saturday night we went to the baseball game with Brooks' parents. The new stadium was impressive and the Gamecocks won.
Grace loved seeing Cocky from a distance...
but when he came close, she held on for dear life.
She wanted to make sure she knew where he was at all times.

Crawfish Festival

We spent a very busy weekend in Columbia with Brooks' family. First stop was the Rosewood Crawfish Festival with Booker, Mimi, Clark, Kelly and Ellie.

Grace had fun playing with her balloon and beads that Mimi bought her. Although nobody ate crawfish, we had a fun time hanging out with the family.
Poor Ellie had to stay in her stroller and out of the sun since she can't wear sunscreen yet. Luckily we were able to get out of the heat for a little while and see her sweet smile!
