Trick-or-Treat

Grace really enjoyed her first Halloween! She drove her car around the neighborhood and had so much fun seeing all the kids.
She really wanted some candy... but settled for Cheerios while we passed it out to the big kids.
She loved shaking the Nerds up and down - they make a great rattle!
We can't wait until next year! My Little Pumpkin

Happy Halloween

Our Little Ladybug!
We hope everyone has a fun and safe Halloween. We are looking forward to the trick-or-treaters. I think Gace is going to have a blast seeing all the kids in their costumes!

All This ORANGE!

This is the only time of year that Grace is allowed to wear orange, so I have been taking full advantage of it. In case you don't know why...Brooks went to USC and is a huge gamecocks fan. Their rival team, the Clemson tigers, has orange uniforms. Therefore, he hates the color orange!

She has been in the Halloween spirit all week.

Pumpkin Picking

We finally got Grace her first pumpkin! We have been so busy lately and made plans to take her to a pumpkin farm on John's Island tonight, but they are closed during the week. So I'm sad to say that her first pumpkin was picked on the side of the road. We will do better next year!

Sunday Afternoon

Brooks' parents came to visit for the day. We had a relaxing afternoon - Grace was very busy playing and reading her new books that Mimi bought her. She loves to "share" her toys... only sometimes she holds on real tight and doesn't let you have it.Grace has recently learned how to give "kisses."
Today she was playing with her mirror and saw a really cute baby...
She just couldn't resist giving that baby a "kiss."

The mirror was very wet after all the kisses!
She had us all laughing!

Grace on the go!

The Taste of Charleston

Today we went to Boone Hall Plantation for the Taste of Charleston. Despite the rain on and off all day, we had a great time. We were able to sample lots of great food from some local restaurants and enjoyed a day out of the house. Grace loved the music and watching the waiter/waitress races. She loves to be around lots of people, especially other kids. Thanks for the ride dad!

Sick Day

Grace and I both stayed home from school today. I had to pick her up early from "school" yesterday because she was running a fever of 102. I took her to the doctor and they said it was just a virus, so nothing we can do. She was pretty pathetic yesterday and wanted to be held most of the day. Luckily she slept through the night and woke up without a fever today. I stayed home from work today because I have tonsillitis (two trips to the doctor yesterday was not fun). Poor Brooks was at work all day, but feeling better from his bad cold that he's been fighting all week.
Grace is feeling much better today. She is still a little whiny and for some reason has been fighting a nap...she slept for a total of 30 minutes all day! I even got desperate and drove her around in the car, but her little eyes popped open as soon as I brought her seat inside. Oh well!

So pathetic with her silkie.

One thing I discovered is that Grace likes to watch TV when she is sick. She watched her Baby Einstein video about 4 times (I'm already sick of it and need to get some more.) We also watched Noggin and Nick Jr., which she didn't like as much, but was still entertained. She is so cute because she claps, points and gets really excited when she sees something interesting. I know TV is probably not the best thing for her, but hey whatever makes her happy when she's sick.

Here she is pointing to all the dogs in the video.

When a song came on, she would clap a little and rock back and
forth some (which I think was her version of dancing).

Fun with Food

Grace has been experimenting with lots of different foods these days. Over the past few weeks she has tried bananas, avocado, cheerios, cantaloupe, pineapple, pancakes, grits, bread and ice cream (which is definitely her favorite)!
She is also a big fan of "puffs". This morning she ate almost one whole mini pancake -
which is a lot for her.
She has still not mastered getting her food from her
tiny fingers to her mouth, but she is very determined and
has tried a few different techniques. She usually makes a pretty big mess and as
you can see often has food from head (or hair) to toe. Grace is not a fan of GRITS, even though she is a
Girl Raised In The South.
I guess her northern roots are with her on this one.
