Thankful...

My parents arrived late the night before Thanksgiving and the girls were very excited to see them in the morning. We watched the parade and Grace opened some early birthday presents. Then we headed to Columbia to spend the day with family and friends. Unfortunately my parents had to leave the day after Thanksgiving, but we were thankful to see them for the day and thankful that Poppy is feeling better.

Good Morning Nana!

Climbing up to the treehouse Booker built!

Lily and Papa
We were thankful for all the wonderful food Mimi and Becky cooked and family/friends we shared it with.

We sang and celebrated birthdays again...

We were thankful to welcome a new cousin/niece into our family.
Lily was very curious and loved hearing her little baby noises.

Thankful for these silly girls!

Getting my baby fix...
I'm so thankful for the time off I had to spend with my girls. We had lots of fun  decorating the house for Christmas, going to the movies, having play dates with friends, spending time with neighbors and watching the Gamecocks beat Clemson!

Happy Thanksgiving

There are so many things to be thankful for these days!  I feel so lucky to have these two beautiful and healthy girls as my daughters! I've recently had lots of bad news of family and friends that are ill or have hardship and feel so blessed to be healthy and have such a wonderful life. I hope that they all can find peace and comfort and know that I am here to help in any way I can. We are looking forward to spending Thanksgiving day with family and friends and meeting the newest addition to our family - Hannah Sloan!

School Pictures - Fall 2012

Grace had a Thanksgiving performance at school last week. She sang songs and each child said what they were most thankful for. Grace said, "my family" when it was her turn and it made me so proud.

We had a homework project to decorate a turkey together as a family. We had lots of fun with the task...

The Finished Project
We hope everyone has a happy and safe Thanksgiving Day!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

We began daddy's birthday celebration on Monday with a cake baked by his girls. They had lots of fun singing with daddy and helping blow out his candle (we only need one wish these days).
On Tuesday, we celebrated with friends and ate dinner at Southend. The girls loved the cupcakes and had lots of fun, it was great to spend time with good friends!

We love you Brooks (daddy) and are so lucky to have you in our lives! Thanks for all you do for our family, I hope you had a special day.

Downtown Charleston

On Sunday we went downtown to take a carriage tour of Charleston. The girls did great (I was a little worried that an hour would be too long, but they did well) and it was fun to finally get downtown!

Lily (3) and Grace (4)

We showed the girls where we got married (look, no construction!)

And rode past the place we stayed on our wedding night.

Thanks Berry (the horse) for a great ride around such a beautiful city!

Fun Times...

Last Saturday I convinced Brooks to go to the fair. The girls just love rides and we scored some free tickets, so it was worth it.

Ferris Wheel with Daddy

Lily still insists on riding the bench on the carousel. Although this time I wasn't aloud to sit with her, I had to sit in front of her. My girl knows what she wants!
As we were walking around the fair, Lily saw the toddler fashion show. She insisted on going to watch the "princesses" so I entertained her while Brooks took Grace on a few rides. It was quite interesting! My favorite part of the day was the lumberjack show that Brooks wanted to go to. The girls loved cheering on the competitions and Grace was even chosen out of the crowd to sit in a stool that they chain sawed!
On Friday we celebrated Kate and Wright's 3rd birthday. Poor Grace was sick with strep so we contained her and she was a trooper! After cupcakes we headed to Disney on Ice. Can you tell the kids are excited?
Everyone loved the show, Grace's favorite character is still Minnie and Lily loves Donald the best. They loved seeing Ariel and Tinkerbell too! It was so fun to watch their faces throughout the show, they had a blast!

Trick or Treat

Grace wanted to be a cat this year and Lily wanted to be a pink princess. Lily then changed her mind and wanted to be a pink ballerina (luckily her friend's Kate and Wright bought her the cute tutu for her birthday).

Lily wanted to be a puppy for her school parade and Grace wanted to be a ladybug (all costumes we already had). I tried to get Lily to be a puppy with Grace the cat, but there is no convincing my girl.

Ladybug Grace

I was able to sneak away from school to make it to Grace's class party. She was so excited and gave me about 10 hugs before I left. I also went to Lily's party after school and she was just too cute.

The girls had lots of fun trick-or-treating in our neighborhood!
