Paci Fairy

I can't believe Lily will be three years old in October, she is growing up way too fast! Lily is very independent and wants to do lots of things "all by herself," but at the same time she likes to pretend that she is a baby and loves to see pictures of "Lily Baby." I had big plans to work on "big girl things" with her this summer like potty training, no more paci and sleeping in a bed, but with traveling and visitors not much has been accomplished. She sits on the potty lots and has had success, but hasn't grasped the concept of telling me when she needs to sit. Ever since she was a baby, I've rocked her in her rocking chair and sang "Rock a Bye Baby and Twinkle Twinkle" before laying her down in her crib. She usually goes right to sleep without a fuss which is why I was nervous about taking the paci from her and also transitioning her into a bed (we tried taking the paci several months ago and caved after three nights due to lots of screaming and crying). Brooks and I decided that is was time to try again and with advise from friends, the paci fairy came to our house and took her pacis for the babies that needed them. The fairy left a small gift as a thank you to Lily for being such a big girl. She was excited to receive M&M's, stickers and an Ariel doll and has done really well going to sleep the past 6 nights. She had her first dentist appointment today, and I was happy to say that she no longer has a paci! She did a great job at the dentist and they had no concerns.

At the Dentist

We will convert her crib to a bed at some point and continue to work on using the potty.

At almost three, Lily loves to paint...

ride her big girl bike,

play babies, paint nails, dance, wear pretty dresses
and carry her purse everywhere...

Lily will always be our baby, but she is becoming such a big girl!

Rivertowne Rays

Grace has really enjoyed being a part of our neighborhood swim team this year! She has learned so much about swimming and has made great gains. She had her final meet on July 21st and made it across the entire pool (freestyle) with no help!

We are so proud of all her hard work!

Having fun at the end of the year party...

I have recently become addicted to using Instagram on my phone camera...

Family Time in NY

Grace had such a fun week spending time at Nana's daycare and also getting extra time with her cousins. I missed her SO much, but I know she had a blast and it was also nice to have some quality time with Lily. We drove to NY this trip and Lily did great in the car. Both girls did well on the way home, but I think it will be quite a while before I can make the trip by myself (they needed someone to pass out snacks, books, toys, etc. about every 20 minutes).

We loved spending lots of time with our family. Our newest nephew James and niece Gabrielle are just the sweetest and cutest babies ever!!!! I got lots of cuddle time and I think I scared Brooks a little even though we are certain that our family is complete. I took lots of pictures of the new babies, I could just eat them both!

We celebrated Allison's birthday.
She is such a beautiful and sweet seven year old!

All the big kids had lots of fun at White Post Farms!

James' Christening Day

We drove to NY last Friday and celebrated the Christening of James on Saturday. It was such a great day with family and I am so honored to be his godmother!

July Visitors

We have had lots of visitors this month  ~ my parents (and Veronica), grandparents, and most of the Bauer family arrived first. Uncle Mike, Aunt Danielle and Madison came later in the week for a wedding. We had so much fun spending time with them all and can't wait to see everyone again in NY. I wish I would have taken some group shots, here are some pics of some of our visitors...

Fourth of July

We had lots of fun watching fireworks at the dock the Saturday before the 4th! I hope the neighborhood continues to do this every year because it was a blast. Lily was a bit scared of the noise at first, but after a while she got brave enjoyed the show.

We celebrated on the 4th by hanging out with friends at the pool and eating lots of good food.

We of course ended the night with a dance party!
The girls had so much fun with their friends Kate and Wright.
