Memorial Day Weekend

My parents came down for the weekend along with our niece Alli. It was a short visit, but we crammed in a lot fun. Grace was excited that Alli surprised her by making the trip.

Alli is such a great helper!

Taking a break from playing outside...

Lily just can't wait to run around with everyone.

On Sunday, all the girls went to the water park while Brooks and my dad moved some things from the townhouse (It is on the market and will hopefully sell soon).

Alli and Grace

The girls were not too sure about this ride,
but once they got used to the current they loved it.

We love to help little Lily...

Brooks and I celebrated our 5th anniversary by going out to dinner at The Boathouse. It's been a long time since we've enjoyed a night out by ourselves, thanks for babysitting nana and papa!

We decided to let Grace go back to NY with my parents since I am flying there on Friday. We already miss her and the house is way too quiet! I've called to check on her lots and she is doing great so far.

Grace's First Haircut

I finally took Grace to get her hair trimmed today. I found this cute little salon, Bangs and Bows, that has airplanes and trucks that the kids can sit in while they get their haircut. Grace picked the pink plane when it was her turn.

Not too sure if this is going to be fun...

I love driving the plane!
The girl was really good with her and gave her a book to read when she wanted her to put her head down. She also told her when to stay still and when to drive by playing red light, green light.

What did she do to my hair?

Time to cut off some of that baby hair
(which we now have in a small little bag for a keepsake).
Pretty Princess

Time to blow dry...
The girl asked Grace if she wanted a braid and she said yes. I'm not sure if she knew what a braid was, but she wanted it.
The finished product...
I think Grace really enjoyed her first haircut experience. It ended with a lollipop and prize from the treasure box. Then we walked over to the pet store to look at some animals. When we got home she played with her baby and took her to get a haircut.

Weekend Guests

Uncle Clark, Aunt Kelly and Elizabeth (The Growing Rogers) came to stay with us this weekend. The girls had fun playing outside, sharing snacks, and going to the playground. The highlight of the weekend was going to the beach, especially because it was Elizabeths first time! It was a perfect beach day and such a fun weekend. We loved having them here and hope they can come back very soon...

Seeing Double

These days we need two of everything! So glad my mom picked up another car at a garage sale...Lily just loves riding around the neighborhood in her car and Grace is no longer "too big" for hers.

Growing Like a Weed!

Lily had her first doctor's appointment with her new pediatrician today and it went well, she only cried for a minute when she got her shots. Here are her stats:
Weight: 17lbs. 8oz. (85th percentile)
Height: 27 inches (90th percentile)

This doesn't seem right to me, but I didn't look at the sheet until we left. Grace was pretty cranky because she was woken up from her nap at school so we could make it to the appointment on time.

Lily started babbling last week and loves to say dadadadada, which Grace thinks is just great!

Mother's Day Photo Shoot

We walked down to the dock today to take some pictures of the girls.
Just love capturing their sweet little faces on camera!

Thanks to Brooks for getting some shots of me and my girls...

Still waiting for the perfect picture of the two
of them looking at the camera at the same time...

Sitting up like a big girl!

Thanks for the cute dress Mimi.

Happy Mother's Day

Grace was very excited to give me "my present" in the car when I picked her up from school on Friday. Little did I know it was filled with chocolate, which happens to be her favorite! She did let me eat one piece and also saved one for daddy.

On Sunday, Brooks let me sleep in and it was quite a treat! He also made pancakes for breakfast and cooked dinner (I could get used to this!).

My two little monkeys on mother's day morning...

We are so lucky to have the best mothers who
make the most amazing "grandmothers."
