Cajun Festival

My parents arrived yesterday to visit for the week. They watched the girls last night while I met some friends for dinner (it was a much needed break after taking care of sick kids all week). Today we went to the Cajun Festival where we also spent time with Kevin, Christina and the Masons. Luckily the rain held off for a few hours so we could enjoy most of the day.

Grace had a blast dancing to the music.

Lily loved the music too! She just waved her arms and got so excited.

Nana and Lily

Grace was still too small for the rides they had there,
but was just as happy to play on the playground instead.

Grace eating a crawfish!
Really? She won't eat chicken nuggets, but she tried a crawfish...

She chewed it for about 15 minutes and in the end split it out.
I thought I was going to have to learn how to cook it for a minute.

Good News

The chest x-ray and sweat test both came back clear. Lily is still coughing, but it is definitely not as bad as it was earlier in the week. Grace is all better and back to her energetic self. Did I mention that Brooks was sick too? He of course refuses to go the doctor (I think his mom even tried to convince him).

Here are some pictures of the girls after bath time the other night...

Grace doesn't like to be left out and loves
to pose for pictures after Lily...

Still Sick

I received another call on Tuesday that Grace had a high fever, so I picked her up and went strait to the doctor. She ended up having strep throat. While I was at the doctor's office, the nurse heard Lily coughing and said she didn't sound well (this is the first time she has actually coughed there). I reminded her that I've brought Lily to the office 5 times for the cough, I think she sensed my frustration when she asked if she should pull her chart. I saw a doctor that was filling in at the office and told her the whole history of the cough. After looking through her chart and seeing that I first brought Lily in January with the same cough, she decided that it was time for some tests. We went to MUSC for a chest x-ray today. Tomorrow, I have to take her for a sweat test (for cystic fibrosis), the doctor said they like to rule this out - I really don't think she has this, but it's still stressful to think about. Next Thursday she goes to the pulmonologist. We will keep you posted on any results. We are praying that it's nothing serious, and just want that cough to go away!
On a happy note, I think we have the only kids that still sleep through the night when they are sick. Thank goodness for that!!

Sick x 2

Lily's test results all came back negative. They said she has a cold/cough that she just needs to work out. The nebulizer does not seem to be helping too much, sooo frustrating! Grace came down with a fever (102) on Friday, but has been in pretty good spirits considering she's had a low grade fever all weekend. She has been playing with an extra nebulizer mask and giving herself, her babies and me lots of "medsin."

On Friday night, Kevin and Christina came over for dinner. I was a little nervous about having them over with 2 sick babies, but the girls were great and Grace loved the extra attention as usual. She just loves the two of them, as soon as she woke up on Saturday she said "Where Kevin, he funny."
Passing out stickers at dinner...
The weather was beautiful on Saturday, and we were supposed to spend the afternoon at our neighbor's St. Patty's party. While Grace was napping we walked across the street for a little while with Lily (don't worry we brought the monitor). As soon as Grace woke up and saw daddy and Lily dressed like this, she said "I no have green on." Luckily I knew she would say this and had already changed my shirt. The girl doesn't miss a thing!

The Never Ending Cough

Lily has had a cough for weeks now and has visited the doctor 5 times (they know us well there!) for it. She has been on two antibiotics, and through all of this has, been a happy little baby that sleeps through the night. Yesterday, I got the dreaded call at school that Lily didn't look well and her cough was getting worse. We headed to the doctor (for the 5th time in the past few weeks) and they gave her a nebulizer treatment. They also tested her for RSV and pertussis (whooping cough) which I am praying she doesn't have. We will continue to give her the breathing treatments at home and hope that we can say good-bye to this never ending cough!
At least Grace had a fun day at school.
She loved checking to make sure everyone was wearing green.

Wonderful Weekend

Mimi and Booker came to visit on Saturday. The girls loved having them here and didn't seem to mind a bit that mommy and daddy went out without them. We had a very fun "adult" dinner with Jeff and Katie - Sushi an Saki (no crayons, snacks, bottles or sippy cups had to be packed).

Loves to Play!!

Sunday morning I decided to take out the Easter tree that Mimi and Booker bought for Grace on her first Easter. She had so much fun putting it together...
but then she decided to take it apart and put it back together over and over and over (maybe I shouldn't have taken it out so soon because she does need help with this task.)

For some reason she liked to put all the "ornments" on the same branch after about the 6th time putting it together.

Sunday afternoon we went to the park again.
I just love getting the kids outside and they really love to be outside.
My first time on a swing was so much fun!

I could just eat her up!

Look Lily, this is how you do it...

After the park, we went out for pizza (which is one of Grace's favorites). On the way home I told Grace that I love her and she replied with, "I love you to moon and back" (A quote from my one of my favorite bedtime story Guess How Much I Love You) .
Melted my heart!!

Picnic Crasher

We went to a new park today and I think it was one a Grace's favorites. It had a sand box, slide, swings and more. Best of all you could walk across the street and see the harbor, a view of the Cooper River Bridge and lots of dogs running around. Grace even made some friends and invited herself to this picnic - she is definitely not shy when it comes to food!

Dinner Date at Miyabi

Saturday night we went out to dinner with the Masons and Kevin & Christina. It was great to see them all, we definitely miss seeing them all as much as we could when we all lived in the same neighborhood! I didn't bring my camera, so here are a few phone shots...

Hello Clare!

Grace and her chopsticks (I mean drum sticks...)

Sorry Kevin, the picture I took of you was too blurry to post. We will just have to hang out again very soon so you can make the blog.
