Snow Day Fun!

After a 4 hour school day on Tuesday, we had a house full of girls waiting for the snow to arrive! We passed the time by playing games, watching movies, and eating lots of snacks. When it was finally time to go to bed and no snow was in sight, we all agreed to wear our pajamas inside out (never heard of this until this week) and hope for some in the morning. Lily even made Brooks turn his PJ pants inside out, she was serious about seeing some snow!

Grace woke up first, but there was still no snow. I convinced her to get dressed and ready just in case, and then it started. I took her outside where we met the other girls...

Thank goodness for rain boots to keep our feet dry, heavy coats
handed down from my sister and water proof gloves from a neighbor!

I ran inside to wake up Lily and quickly got her dressed before the snow stopped. She was in a good mood (which is not normal in the morning) and loved being out in the snow!

and trying to throw it...

The perfect snowball, I just LOVE that smile!

Everything was FROZEN...

After coming inside to thaw out and eat pancakes, we headed back out for more FROZEN fun!

This is how we sled in the low county...

The Smallest Snowman Ever...

We completed our snow day bucket list:
snow angels, snowball fight, "sledding" and snowman!

Bridges were closed, so daddy got to stay home too! Although it wasn't much of a "snow" day (not even an inch), we had lots of fun and made the most of it. The girls and I had another day off on Thursday and got to play with more friends. Tomorrow is a two hour day delay and then it should be back up to 70 degrees on Sunday. What a crazy winter!

January...

It has been mostly COLD this month, but we have had fun
bundling up to play outside (and staying in playing babies and doing crafts).

Lily loves to pose for pics...

Down at the neighborhood dock for the annual chili cook off...
We didn't enter, although I think Brooks could win if he did.

Stay tuned for pictures of our "snow" day fun...

Slumber Parties

We celebrated Elizabeth's 5th  birthday by going to her house for a cousin slumber party. The girls had a blast painting nails, dancing and completing their slumber party challenge!

Grace wrote a story all about it
(she just loves writer's workshop these days!).

This Sunday we had Maddie over for a slumber party. Grace and Maddie have been in school together for the past three years, we are so sad that she is moving to Greenville in March.

The girls were so good and made sure they included Lily in all the fun!

Happy New Year!

We had a blast ringing in the new year with some great friends, eating oysters and just having fun! 2014 is going to be a great year!!!!

Cousins

We attempted to get a great pictures of all the cousins,
but with 9 kids it was quite a challenge!

Here are a few of my favorites...

Much easier to get one of the three oldest...

Beautiful Kids!!

New York Visit

We had lots of fun visiting with family and friends in NY. The girls are finally at an age where flying is easy (no strollers or anything). On both flights we sat across from babies that we helped entertain, I remember really appreciating those people that were willing to help and was glad we were able to! We didn't make it into the city this year, but had lots of fun jumping on huge trampolines, seeing a Madeline play and just playing with cousins and friends!!
