MS Walk 2010

Every year we participate in the MS walk to support our good friend Carol Mason. This year Brooks was able to get Walgreens to donate our shirts, some water and raise money at local stores. It was a good day for a great cause.
Unfortunately I left my camera at home (sometimes getting out the house is a little hectic !), so here are a few shots I took with my phone.

Lily ~ Six Months

I just can't believe that Lily is already half way to her first birthday! Time goes by way too fast and I wish I could slow it down...
Lily is still having some issues with her reflux/coughing, but is doing much better. We are working on sitting up, but she usually only lasts a couple of seconds before tipping over. Lily loves taking a bath and practically jumps out of her tub with excitement (she has very strong legs!). She continues to eat her oatmeal and likes it much better with fruits and vegetables (she has tried peas, carrots, squash, applesauce, bananas and peaches). She has also sampled some cheese toast thanks to her big sister who wanted to share! Brooks and I were talking at the table when Grace announced that Lily ate some of her toast, luckily I was able to scoop it out of her mouth which brought her to tears. It was very hard to put Grace in time out for sharing. I don't have her stats yet because we couldn't get an appointment with our new pediatrician until next month.

My First Pedicure

I was folding some laundry the other night and Grace found some nail polish. Since Brooks wasn't home and Lily was already sleeping, I thought it was the perfect opportunity for some "girl time." I explained the rules of nail polish: only mommy can use it, and we can't touch it until it dries. She sat still eating her snack and it was a success. Luckily she was happy with sparkles and didn't request red like mommy's toes.

Strawberry Festival

This weekend we went to the Strawberry Festival at Boone Hall Plantation. We picked our own strawberries, rode on lots of rides, and ate some yummy food. By the time we left we were all really dirty (especially our feet!) and Grace was exhausted because we skipped her nap, but we had a great time and will definitely go back to this next year. Here are some pictures from our fun family day...

Weekend Fun

On the way to school today Grace looked out the window and said, "Mommy - it's late outside?" I tried to explain that it was very early (even the sun wasn't awake yet). I think she wanted to stay in bed just as much as I did today!

We enjoyed our weekend before heading back to school by spending time with friends and playing outside. Saturday night we went to the Mason's house for dinner. Lily got lots of special attention and Grace had fun playing with Clare and her dog Moe.

Daddy's Girl

We spent a lot of time outside on Sunday. Grace played in her "house that Papa built" as she sometimes refers to it. She even invited Lily and I inside for some tea.

Daddy helped Grace with her swing after watching the Masters.

Spring Break

What a wonderful week we've had! It has been so nice to be at home with Grace and Lily, just wish it didn't go by so fast. Also wish daddy could have had time off too...
Since the weather was great, we spent a lot if time outside. We even went to the pool twice. Lily just loved the water, even though it was cold, and Grace had fun playing with some other kids. I had my hands full, so no pictures of them swimming. Grace was such a great big sis all week and loves to help me take care of Lily by throwing away diapers, finding her paci, and turning on her nebulizer.
Grace is talking up a storm and pretty much talks non stop from the time she wakes until she goes to sleep (she definitely didn't get that from her mom & dad). These days she likes to pretend that her name is Lily, so I entertain her by calling Lily, Grace.

Here are some pictures of our week together:

We had two play dates with Taylor (one at the park and one at The Children's Museum). Grace just loves playing with Taylor and Lily gets excited at the sight of lots of action.
