Merry Christmas!

We celebrated Christmas Eve and day with Brooks' family. It was Lily and her cousin Elizabeth's first Christmas. It is hard to believe that last year Grace was the only little girl running around the Rogers house! We had lots of fun spending time with the family.

This year we did gift cards along with gag gifts and drew
numbers from a hat to see who would pick first.
Here is Brooks in the new grab bag ceremonial hat:

Merry Christmas Eve

We gave Grace the kitchen set that Santa sent from Nana and Papa last night. Santa also made an early delivery and brought some accessories to go with it. She was busy cooking all night!

Festival of Lights

Monday night we took the girls to the Festival of Lights at James Island County Park. Despite the cold and loooong line to ride the train Grace had lots of fun and enjoyed seeing all the lights.

A Night Out

Mimi and Booker came on Saturday to babysit for the night. Brooks and I went out to dinner downtown with a big group of friends. We ate at 82 Queen and then went out for a few drinks. It was a much needed fun night out! Thanks Mimi and Booker...

Welcome, Madison Jean

My brother and his wife were blessed with a beautiful 7 pound baby girl today. Congratulations Mike and Danielle, we are so excited about the newest member of our family! I can't wait to meet her next week.
Sorry to say that Grace is more excited about seeing Bailey, the dog, than another baby...

Elizabeth's Baptism

Our niece, Laura Elizabeth, was baptized this Sunday. She did a great job and Brooks is honored to be her godfather. We had a wonderful time sharing her special day with family and friends.

Mimi had dresses made for the girls and we tried our best to get a group shot, but didn't have much luck. Lily did a great job sitting still for the picture.

What a lady with her new pearls!

Oh Christmas Tree...

We finally got our Christmas tree decorated last night after a couple setbacks (we left our tree stand at the old house and didn't realize it until we got the tree home...then the next night Brooks accidentally cut a strand of the lights when he was trimming the branches).

Grace really had fun looking at all the ornaments and was a big help. She brought us each ornament, but didn't want to put them on herself which was surprising (I thought we would have a tree with lots of ornaments at her height).

Santa Claus is Coming to Town...

We have slowly been getting ready for Christmas over the past few weeks. I took our Elf on the Shelf book out last week and Grace has been having lots of fun looking for our elf each morning. She named the elf "Bailey" which also happens to be the name of my parent's dog. Grace loves the idea of Santa Claus and looks for him wherever we go. At the bank the other day one of the ladies was wearing a Santa hat, she just kept pointing and saying "Santa Claus."

I knew Grace liked the idea of Santa, but I was almost positive she wasn't going to sit on his lap. She was pretty excited on our way to go see him, and watched closely as the kids before us both received lollipops from Santa. When it was our turn, I placed Lily on Santa's lap and that is when Grace held on to me for dear life. I really wanted to get the classic kid crying on Santa's lap photo, but there was no tearing her away from me.
She was brave enough to talk to Santa and take that lollipop he was giving out along with crayons and a coloring book.
