Paci Fairy

I can't believe Lily will be three years old in October, she is growing up way too fast! Lily is very independent and wants to do lots of things "all by herself," but at the same time she likes to pretend that she is a baby and loves to see pictures of "Lily Baby." I had big plans to work on "big girl things" with her this summer like potty training, no more paci and sleeping in a bed, but with traveling and visitors not much has been accomplished. She sits on the potty lots and has had success, but hasn't grasped the concept of telling me when she needs to sit. Ever since she was a baby, I've rocked her in her rocking chair and sang "Rock a Bye Baby and Twinkle Twinkle" before laying her down in her crib. She usually goes right to sleep without a fuss which is why I was nervous about taking the paci from her and also transitioning her into a bed (we tried taking the paci several months ago and caved after three nights due to lots of screaming and crying). Brooks and I decided that is was time to try again and with advise from friends, the paci fairy came to our house and took her pacis for the babies that needed them. The fairy left a small gift as a thank you to Lily for being such a big girl. She was excited to receive M&M's, stickers and an Ariel doll and has done really well going to sleep the past 6 nights. She had her first dentist appointment today, and I was happy to say that she no longer has a paci! She did a great job at the dentist and they had no concerns.

Baby Lily and her Paci

At the Dentist

We will convert her crib to a bed at some point and continue to work on using the potty.

At almost three, Lily loves to paint...

ride her big girl bike,

play babies, paint nails, dance, wear pretty dresses
and carry her purse everywhere...

Lily will always be our baby, but she is becoming such a big girl!
